On the lines of Gujarat International Finance Tech (GIFT) City and Hyderabad Information Technology and Engineering Consultancy (HITEC) City, Rajasthan govt is gearing up to develop a "hi-tech city" close to Jaipur. Recently, Boston Consulting Group – a multinational consulting firm – gave a presentation on the concept of hi-tech cities, following which the state govt has started looking for suitable land on outskirts of Jaipur.
In the State Budget for 2024-25, finance minister Diya Kumar had announced a hi-tech city on outskirts of Jaipur. The state govt then roped in the multinational consulting firm to understand the basic concept of a hi-tech city.
Officials said they are conducting surveys at places like Phagi, Chaksu, Agra Road, and Delhi Road to identify land.
